Wow. We had a fantastic vacation in San Diego! I had never been there before, but I now understand why people adore the area. It was beautiful!! We went with friends that knew the area and made sure we didn’t miss a thing. It was a blast!
We are still settling into our routine since life feels a bit hectic and off-kilter, but I do have five quick things to share from the trip.
1. We spent an afternoon in Temecula where we were able to visit a few vineyards, enjoy some wine-tasting, eat a wonderful lunch, peruse gift shops, and play bocce ball!
2. I made a batch of the freshest guacamole ever! The avocado and lime came from trees growing in the backyard of our friend’s house.
3. We scheduled workouts with Paul, a personal trainer known for his challenging workouts. He certainly lived up to the stories I had heard.
Otherwise, to workout I used the hills for morning runs walks. The scenery was beautiful, but those hills definitely got the better of me. My calves were so sore!!
4. Comic Con was being held in downtown San Diego over the weekend, and we decided it might be fun to people-watch for an hour before dinner. Somehow I got roped into taking pictures with the people whose costumes amused us most.
5. And I can’t finish this post without mentioning a few other ultra-memorable events: attending OMBAC’s Over the Line tournament,
spending an afternoon at the Del Mar Racetrack (which was followed with a B-52′s concert!),
and going to Pageant of the Masters in Laguna.
Now that I type this out, I don’t know how we fit it all in! And I didn’t even get into details of Bob’s In-and-Out stops, the fabulous restaurants we visited, or time spent with our friend’s family. The vacation definitely went by too quickly—and we enjoyed every moment!
Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!!
